 Comeroo Camel Station Bourke NSW

Things to see and do while you enjoy your stay with us

There is an abundance of things to see and do while you enjoy your stay at Comeroo.

For the fisherman Comeroo offers great opportunities for yabbying and
hooking an abundance of delicious yellowbelly and catfish which frequent the waterways.

Take a relaxing canoe trip up the Cuttaburra Creek to where James Tyson lived in
the early century. Of course there is the option of simply relaxing and soaking up the
Back o' Bourke hospitality.

Enjoy a steak on the B.B.Q. or a camp oven dinner in the established homestead gardens.
For a real treat take a wagon ride up to the artesian bore and take in the stars while
you soak away the stresses of city life in mother nature's own open air spa bath in
44 degrees Celsius water flowing out 100,000 gals a day.

Camel Treks

Our camels are very placid and respond well to commands, they are friendly and love attention and so offer a relaxing and inviting way to see the outback

Camel Campout: - The more adventurous will enjoy being a part of a working camel team travelling the style of our early explores. Great meals from camp ovens, picturesque station waterholes, amazing sunsets and the tall stories
around the campfire to make the Camel Campout a memorable outback treat...... for more click here

Bird Watching

We also have the honor of having a vast wetland area on the station which plays home to a multitude of different water birds and parrots, a real treat for the enthusiast. The rare HALLS BABLER & CHESTNUT BREASTED QUAIL THRUSH have been seen on Comeroo by birdwatchers recently
